How to make açaí bowls

Whether you have it for breakfast, before or after an awesome work out or just for pure joy, açaí bowls will provide you with  lots and lots of energy and will keep you full for a long time. But what is açaí?

Açaí is a super fruit that grows in the Amazon jungle in Brazil. It's a fruit that looks like a blueberry but tastes like cocoa. It's a very powerful antioxidant and contains healthy omegas.



To make your own açaí bowl you will need:


  •  1 o 2 açaí unsweetened fruit packs (available at Whole Foods). Sambazon is the only brand I trust, and it's amazing.
  • 1 banana + plus 1/2 more for the topping
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 tbs of honey
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • 1tbs coconut flakes
  • 1tbs flexseeds
  • 1tbs granola


Preparation:
In a blender combine the açaí pack after letting run under water for a few seconds. Add the whole banana, the blueberries, half of the strawberries, milk and honey. After everything is blended, pour into for favorite bowl and garnish with the granola, coconut, flaxseeds and the rest of the banana and strawberries.
