Vineyard Review: Bannerman

Located a few miles away from the North Carolina beach area, Bannerman Vineyard is unique in many ways. This place grows muscadine grapes, which are North Carolina native grapes. Wines of these grapes are very fruity, rich and full-flavored. At Bannerman Vineyard, they not only grow six different varieties of muscadine grapes, but also they make peach, strawberry and blueberry wines.

The grapes are organic and hand-picked, so the owners take a lot of pride in doing so. It's a lot of work, but it's all worthy. If you think about how to support local farmers and their products, this is a great way to do it.

How to get there:
From I-40 take exit 398. Turn west on NC Hwy 53. Go 1 mile and turn left on Stag Park Road and go 2.5 miles. There are signs along the way, so you can't miss it.
